Due to popular demand the Polka Dot Party returned to The Square on Saturday June 30 and was a roaring success.

The event, which was the second time the family funday was held here, returned to entertain children and adults alike. With face painters, balloon modellers, arts and crafts and even transfer tattoos there was no end to the entertainment on the day with hundreds of people getting involved.

Organisers said: “It really was fantastic. There was so much to do and the place was a hive of activity. The walkabout clown was great too keeping children entertained as they queued for various activities. We are very confident that it will return for a third time.”

Also entertaining, on his keyboard, in The Square on the same day was Frank McNamara who raised an estimated €2,000 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital – the most raised by him in any centre by that point.
