Tallaght Stadium

Tallaght Stadium is a modern and multipurpose venue and equipped to cater for up to 6,000 seated patrons since its opening in 2009. The stadium is best known for being the home of Ireland’s most successful football club Shamrock Rovers. Located close to the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, Tallaght Stadium has also hosted other sports ranging from American Football and Rugby to Archery. Aside from sport, the venue offers conference facilities for up to 300 delegates, concert facilities for up to 20,000 attendees and is extremely accessible with both bus and LUAS services less than a 5 minute walk away.

Ireland’s most successful soccer club. On 26 August 2011 Rovers became the first Irish side to reach the group stages of either of the top two European competitions by beating Partizan Belgrade in the play-off round of the Europa League. The Square and Shamrock Rovers share a great relationship, and we’re proud supporters of the Hoops.

County Library, Tallaght

The County Library is a light filled, spacious and customer-orientated building which provides a large and up-to-date book stock, free state of the art computer facilities, self service terminals, printing and photocopying systems, a digital training and a conference suite, a teen zone, a children’s library and a local studies area, a download zone where customers can download audio books directly to their  mp3 player or iPod from our award winning on-line service and assistive technologies for people who have visual or reading difficulties. The County Library delivers open and welcoming access to leisure, information and educational opportunities.

Civic Theatre

Since opening in 1999, the Civic Theatre has developed relationships with the vast majority of Irish theatre companies and most opera, contemporary dance, ballet and children’s theatre companies. The Civic Theatre is located in Tallaght at the end of the RED Luas line, at the northside of The Square Shopping Centre and beside South Dublin County Council headquarters and the County Library.

South Dublin County Council

South Dublin County Council came into existence on the 1st January 1994. It has an area of 222.74 newuare kilometres. South Dublin has a population of 265,205 according to the 2011 census. The heraldic crest for South Dublin reads “This We Hold In Trust” in both English and Irish, while incorporating elements relating to the history, geography and present day infrastructure of the area. It is bounded by Dublin city (15 km to the north east), the Dublin Mountains and County Wicklow to the south, the River Liffey to the north separating it from Fingal and County Kildare to the west.
