In a huge boost for Tallaght’s GAA community, we have created a sponsorship fund with an initial investment of €30,000.

The initiative, ‘Club Together’ will support 5 local Gaelic clubs for academy aged children (4-8 years), allowing them to grow club participation and encourage even more young people to discover and enjoy playing GAA.

The clubs benefitting from this year’s sponsorship are Thomas Davis, Croi Ro Naofa, St Marks GAA, St Anne’s GAA, St Kevin’s Killian’s GAA.

‘Club Together’ is the first sponsorship model of its kind, and the funds will be used directly by the clubs for purchasing club gear, equipment, coaching camps and more, as well as on events and other aids for the clubs throughout the year.

To celebrate the launch of ‘Club Together’, The Square is hosting a Family Fun Day on Sat 14th March from 1-4pm, with live music, kids entertainment, play areas, giveaways, opportunities to try out Gaelic games, and join local club.

Local Dublin ladies football stars will also be present on the day including Dublin legend and 2019 Ladies Football Player of the Year Siobhan McGrath, fellow all-star and teammate, Olwyn Carey and Dublin Minor ladies captain Tammy Quinn.

Speaking on behalf of The Square, Fiona Power, Commercial Operations Manager said, “The Square is delighted to support local Gaelic games clubs in Tallaght. These clubs offer every girl and boy, the opportunity to belong to a fantastic community, make friends, get fit and have fun!”

The team at The Square will be supporting the clubs and their efforts throughout the year with various opportunities for club promotion and awareness- including a Gallery Wall in the centre to showcase club activities and achievements, dedicated web and social promotion, club recruitment opportunities as well as fun events and incentives for families.

The ‘Club Together’ sponsorship aims to create an important link between the community and the clubs, to create awareness, promote and provide opportunities to enjoy Gaelic games, and grow participation within the clubs, via support from The Square Towncentre, Tallaght.

“The Club Together sponsorship program is great for St Kevins Killians GAA club. It provides an opportunity for the club between advertising and exposure across The Square and its online channels, as well as helping to purchase new gear and equipment for the academy kids.” said Brian Kilbride, Juvenile Chairman St Kevin’s Killian’s GAA club.

We’re using our funding to provide new training gear, to make training as fun and inclusive as possible, to provide winter training facilities, and parent education programmes to help everyone become involved. We look forward to a long and happy association with The Square and ‘Club Together’!”

The difference it will make to our Macra Academy will be huge to help coach the young children the basics of our great games and also improve the fun element which is a priority for us.”
