Teresa Costello meets here at Starbucks on Level 3 to do just that regularly, but her story may be slightly different to yours. Teresa was diagnosed with breast cancer almost two years ago and while undergoing treatment was surprised by the lack of support and information for her age group.
As a result of this she set up a group of women who also have or have had breast cancer in the past, with many of the ladies less than 40 years old. They began to meet regularly for coffee, and have now set up a Facebook page called “Breast Friends”. The page attracted around 600 likes in its first ten days of being active.
Through their Facebook and regular meet-ups the common goal is to try and achieve an increased awareness among the medical profession and women in the 25-45 age group for breast cancer. For more information or if you would like to join them for a coffee pop them a mail on Facebook.
